This guide is here to make it easy for new and existing members to explore all the ways to get the most out of your membership. That, and it answers some of the questions we get asked most often. Pour yourself a cuppa and let’s get started!

Members' Guide to The Hive

Website Members' Area

Head to your account (button at top of Member' Area) to download your membership invoices, update your card details for billing, and you can also cancel your membership from here.

Details of all the upcoming members’ events we have planned (usually 1/2 months in advance), including the Zoom links for online meet-ups, so you can pop them in your diary.

Find fellow Hive members by searching by name or industry – whether you need their services yourself, or are looking for someone to team up with on a collaboration (we love collaborations)!

Remember to update your own directory entry by clicking on the ‘Your Account’ button at the top of the page.

  1. Upload a photo or your company logo

  2. Make sure your business is under the correct industry category so you can be found easily.

  3. Include your website and social media links

  4. If you offer a discount for Hive members, include details like the amount/% this is, plus any codes needed to redeem on your website.

Check out our huge catalogue of previous speakers, covering everything from design, tax and social media to growth mindset, public speaking and wellbeing - it's a goldmine of info and inspiration! We record all of our monthly talks, so if you can’t make it live then you can catch up at a time that suits you.

Download exclusive members-only resources that will help you with the day-to-day running of your business. You can also download your member’s logo to use on socials and your website here, too.
We’re always looking for new resources from members to add to this section of the site. If you’d like to contribute a blog post or article, just let us know. We’ll include your business and contact details so that members can find out more about your services, too.

Member Events

Meet-ups are a fundamental part of your membership to the Hive, and our core events are included in your membership fee. We occasionally arrange additional events outside of our main schedule which have an extra charge, but you’re never obliged to attend.

We love having members speak, so if you’d like to put yourself forward, let us know!

We hold a number of different meet-ups every month - online and in-person. You can find the dates for upcoming meet-ups on the Members’ Area of the website, and also in the Facebook Forum under the ‘Events’ tab.

Member events are held Mon-Fri, the majority of which are in the evenings, but we do try to mix it up by offering morning and lunchtime sessions when possible too.

RSVP for events in the Facebook Member's Forum.

The core meet-ups are:

Usually held in the evening, from 8-9PM once per month on Zoom. These sessions are recorded, so you can catch up at a time that suits you if you miss it. Recordings are available to view from 48 hours post-event, and are hosted on both the members’ area of the website and the Facebook Forum under ‘Guides’.

Evening event, from 8-9PM once per month on Zoom. Like speed dating but less awkward! These sessions are a great way to meet lots of members in one evening. We divide attendees up into breakout rooms of generally 3/4 people for around 10 minutes, and repeat! This is your opportunity to talk about you and your business and to get to know your fellow members. No hard-selling here, like all of our meet-ups it’s really informal. We promise it’s not scary! These sessions are not recorded.

Quarterly event held online, with a social media expert who will give us a run down of the major changes/updates on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and then answer any issues or questions you have about your social media accounts for business.

One x members brunch per month is included in your membership. If you wish to attend additional brunches in a month not a problem - there is just a supplement of £10 per event to pay.  You can choose the location of the brunch you wish to attend - it doesn't need to be the one closest to you.

No set menu on the day - you just pay for whatever you have to eat and drink. Feel free to pop down for a quick coffee or stay for the duration. Kids and babes are very welcome.

And as a side note:

We know that evenings can be tricky especially if you’re doing bath/bedtime with small humans, trying to have dinner etc. Please don’t stress about this or let this stop you from joining the meet-ups. If you’re eating dinner and manhandling kids on Zoom, that’s not a problem. And if you have to join late or leave early, that’s not an issue either - you just do what you can with the time you have!

The Hive Facebook Forum

This is where the magic happens! Our Facebook group is your place to ask for advice or recommendations, find out what other members are up to, and promote new products and services. Latest news will always be posted there too.
We encourage self-promotion, so feel free to post about what you are working on, and any new offerings you have! And if you want to offer fellow members a discount that’s even better - but not required. We just ask that you limit any self-promotion posts to once per week so that requests for help don't get lost. Trumpet Tuesday is always a popular day - where we all shout about our achievements or anything new we are working on.

Please do get involved and comment in the group where you can – it’s a safe, supportive, wonderful space. We do have a few group rules but they’re very straightforward. You’ll find them in the pinned post at the top of the discussion page. By asking questions and commenting on others posts you’ll find yourself getting stuck into the community really quickly.

Social Media Exposure Opportunities

We offer Hive members the chance to take over stories @themamahive Instagram every Tuesday. This is a great way to showcase your business, reach a new audience and give people a glimpse behind-the-scenes. Book your slot here.

We usually release dates a couple of months at a time, so make sure to check back in if you can't see an available slot right now.

We love sharing your collaborations with other Hive members! After all, it's one of the things we do best. Make sure to tag us in any collaborations on Instagram so that we can share them.

Where we get to know more about you and your business. This is then shared in the Facebook Members Forum and on The Hive Instagram. It's just a few questions to answer, and you can do it here
