We've put this guide together to make it easy for both new and founding members to see the different ways to get the most out of your membership in one place, and to answer some of the questions we get asked most often.

Pour yourself a cuppa and lets get started!

Website Member Area

Log in to access the members only area of the website (it will be the email and password you created when you joined the Hive).

Once you are logged in there is a whole heap of useful info here:

This has details of all the upcoming members events planned (usually 2 months in advance), including the Zoom links for online meet-ups, so you can pop them in your diary.

Use the directory to search for fellow Hive members. You can search by name or industry, which will help you if you are searching for a service or someone to team up with on a collaboration.

Make sure you update your own directory entry by clicking on the ‘Your Account’ button at the top of the page.

  1. Upload a photo or your company logo

  2. Make sure your business is under the correct industry category so you can be found easily.

  3. Include your website and social media links

  4. If you are offering a discount to Hive members be sure to include the amount/% this is, plus any codes needed to redeem on your website.

Check out our huge catalogue of previous speakers, covering everything from design, tax and social media, to growth mindset, public speaking and wellbeing - we have over 2.5 years worth of content on here! We record all of our monthly talks, so if you can’t make it live then you can catch up at a time that suits you.

Download exclusive members-only resources that will help you with the day to day running of your business. You can also download your members logo to use on socials and your website here too.

We are always looking to add new resources for members to this section of the site. If you would like to contribute a blog or article to be added to the resources area please just let us know. We will include your business and contact details so that members can find out more about your services.

Member Meet-Ups

Meet-ups are a fundamental part of your membership to the Hive, and our core events are included in your membership fee. We occasionally arrange additional events outside of our main schedule which are payable as extra, but you are never obliged to attend.

We love having members speak! If you would like to put yourself forward then let us know.

We hold a number of different meet-ups every month (online until later in 2021 when we will be introducing IRL socials).

You can find out dates for forthcoming meet-ups on the Members Area of the website, and also in the Facebook Forum under the ‘Events’ tab.

The core meet-ups are:

Usually held in the evening, from 8-9PM once per month on Zoom, with a guest speaker. These sessions are recorded so if you can’t make it live you can catch up at a time that suits you. Recordings are available to view from 48 hours post event, and are hosted on both the members are of the website and the Facebook Forum under ‘Guides’.

Evening event, from 8-9PM once per month on Zoom. Like speed dating but less awkward! These sessions are a great way to meet lots of members in one evening. We divide attendees up into breakout rooms of generally 3/4 people for around 10 minutes, and repeat! This is your opportunity to talk about you and your business, and get to know your fellow members. No hard selling here, like all of our meet-ups it’s really informal. I promise its not scary! These sessions are not recorded.

Evening event (the name gives it away!), from 8-9PM once per month on Zoom and IRL later in 2021. Pour yourself a glass of wine or a cup of tea, come in your PJs if you want - this is our monthly evening get together to discuss any ideas or challenges we are facing in our businesses, and generally have a bit of fun together. These sessions have no speaker or set agenda, and are not recorded.

Morning event held from 10.30-11.30AM once per month on Zoom and IRL later in 2021. Our monthly morning session to brainstorm ideas and discuss any ideas or challenges you are facing in your business. As with WINE-down - these sessions have no speaker or set agenda, and are not recorded.

And as a side note:

We know that evenings can be tricky especially if you are doing bath/bedtime with small humans and trying to have dinner etc. Please don’t stress about this or let this stop you from joining the meet-ups. If you are eating dinner and manhandling kids on Zoom that is not a problem. And also if you have to join late or leave early this is not an issue - you just do what you can with the time you have!

We love it when you RSVP for a meet-up as it gives us a good idea of how many to expect (especially with Speed Networking nights), so please do let us know in the Facebook event where you can.

Mama Hive Facebook Forum

This is where the magic happens! Our Facebook group is your place to ask for advice or recommendations, find out what other members are up to, and promote any new services you are offering. Latest news will always be posted here.

We encourage self promotion! Feel free to post about what you are working on, and any new offerings you have. And if you want to offer fellow members a discount that’s even better - but not required. We just ask that you limit any self-promotion posts to once per week so that requests for help don't get lost.

Please do get involved and comment in the group where you can - it is a safe space.

We do have some group rules which are very straightforward - you can see them in the pinned post at the top of the discussion page. By asking questions and commenting on others posts you will find yourself getting stuck into the community really quickly.

Social Media Exposure Opportunities

We offer Hive members the chance to take over stories @themamahive Instagram every Tuesday.

This is a great way to showcase your business, and give people a glimpse behind the scenes.

If you would like to host a Takeover Tuesday then you can book your slot here.

We usually release dates a couple of months at a time, so make sure to check back in if you can't see an available slot to book.

We love sharing your collaborations with other Hive members! After all, it's one of the things we do best.

Please make sure to tag us in any collaborations on Instagram so that we can share it too.

And on the topic of collabs - we have group Insta Lives (up to 4 people) shouting about the collaborations between our members. If this is something you want to get involved in please let us know.
